Kel Buchanan

Kel Buchanan has been a resident of Washoe County for more than 40 years. He is currently president of HB Engineering Group, Inc., and has also served as a federal bankruptcy trustee. Kel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from the University of British Columbia, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. Kel lives with his wife Holly and their two cats in Southwest Suburban Reno.

Meet Holly Walton-Buchanan

 

Holly grew up in Reno and was a teacher in the Washoe County School District before joining the Nevada Department of Education in Carson City. She attended graduate school at UNR, where she earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. Holly has authored several books based on historic ranches and houses in the Truckee Meadows. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Historic Reno Preservation Society as well as the Reno Chamber Orchestra.

A long time volunteer at the Animal Ark Wildlife Sanctuary, she shares her love of animals with her husband Kel. They also share their Southwest Suburban home with two adorable Burmese cats, Yoda and Kenobi.
